Exchange Network Engineer - Nightshift

 

Job Summary:

As a part of the 24x7 monitoring and management team, The Exchange Network Engineer - Nightshift will assist in the monitoring, troubleshooting, support and reporting of Azaleos Oneserver customer network environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor multiple customer networks and systems
  • Proactively contact customers in the event of a problem
  • Troubleshoot and assist customers to perform any remediation steps necessary when problems are realized
  • Deploy patches to multiple customer networks
  • Aid in the stability testing of prerelease patches
  • Performing system health checks 

Required Qualifications:

  • Call center /Customer Service experience
    • Must have excellent customer service skills working in a call center
    • Experience must demonstrate outstanding support and service
  • Troubleshooting skills and experience
    • Must have proven track record of troubleshooting complex issues including directory synchronization, mail routing, etc for Windows Server OS, overall network performance/connectivity
  • Computer skills and knowledge
    • Networking topology and connectivity understanding (TCP/IP)
    • Strong Microsoft Windows and Office skills/experience
    • Strong Exchange Server skills including related areas as they pertain to managing an Exchange environment:
      • Experience with SMTP, Relay hosting and Internet messaging environments
      • Windows Patch Management
      • Administering MS Exchange 2003 mailbox, calendar, public folder and conferencing services
      • Disaster recovery operations and backup procedures
      • Exchange plug-ins and third party applications (Anti-virus, Anti-SPAM)
      • Active Directory DNS infrastructure management
      • Good understanding of switching and routing
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 department
    • Must be able to work alone and as a part of a team
    • Ability to work a 4 day workweek (12 hour days)
    • Ability to work overnight shifts and on weekends
  • Schedule:
    • Saturday, Sunday, Monday 6pm - 6am
    • Tuesday 6pm - 10pm
    • Wednesday - Friday off

Desired Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE 2000/2003) preferred (Concentration in Messaging)
  • Architecture and integration of messaging solutions
  • Wireless e-mail services
  • Development and maintenance of systems architecture and operations documentation
  • RIM Blackberry server and device support
  • Automation/Coding/Scripting skills
  • Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003 migration experience
  • Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange migration experience Global directory synchronization
  • Experience with migration tools
  • Email Archiving
  • SAN Storage
